Vintage Pierced Brass Moroccan Persian Hanging Lamp Light Lantern

This is for 1 of 3 matching vintage antique Middle Eastern traditional pierced solid brass hanging lanterns. Buy 1 or all 3. The decorative brass is aged and has original patina with some type of golden surface finish applied. They can be hung by the added top chain (which has some rust) to total length of 17" ...approximately 11" long and 8" wide each. Approximately 15" from the round brass disc with three chains to bottom of lamp in length. Lamps such as these are rare and usually from Turkey, Syria, Persia, Egypt and Morocco, and also referred to as Oajar, Islamic, and Mosque lamps. These beautiful pieces were hand crafted probably in the late 1890's to early 1900's. The lamps have a pulley system that allows the top piece to open up away from the bottom piece to place the candle or light in the base These types of lanterns have delicate hand cut filigree in shapes, flowers or scrolls to give the item an intricate pattern. When a light or a candle is added you get wonderful design shadows on a wall. Lights or candles are very easy to get in and out of the holders.
