The Peruzzi family’s history as silversmiths began with Giuseppe Peruzzi and his wife Giulia in Florence, Italy, where they established a workshop in 1860. They passed the skill on to their children Gustavo, Guglielmo, Gino, Gastone, and Guglielmina, who also learned to make fine sterling silver wares. In 1910, Gino, Gastone, and Guglielmina Peruzzi opened a silver workshop in Boston, Massachusetts, called Fratelli Peruzzi Silversmiths. Fratelli translates to brothers in English, and the business is often referenced as Peruzzi Brothers on product packaging (although the actual jewelry is not marked in that way). They operated the American extension of the family business on Boylston Street until 1973.
