Vintage Penny Dolls

2 - Bisque porcelain, string-joint arms, Penny Dolls (circa 1850 -1920). Bisque dolls are characterized by their realistic, skin-like matte finish with brightly painted faces. The dolls were often sold in sweet shops for a penny, hence the name. Made in Japan (stamped on the back...one more faded than the other) 3 1/4 " tall.
