Very Rare Set of Gloves & Beaded Collar by Parsons-Meares, LTD (Costumiers for Broadway productions of Hamilton & The Lion King and performance costumes for Bette Midler).
These pieces are bespoke and handmade
specifically for the 1992 reimagining of Guys & Dolls, specifically worn during the 'Bushel and Peck' scene. These items were found at an estate close to The Goodspeed Opera House in Haddam, CT.
The set shows signs of wear commensurate with regular use in performances. The glove fibers have some signs of fraying, bow color bleed, wear to bow fabric, and fingers are somewhat over stretched.
The beaded collar, made up of both glass and plastic beads & and rhinestones on a tulle/net backing, has some soiling on back, bead wear, and corrosion on the reflective back of rhinestones. Please look closely at photos for further illustration of any issues.
Despite these flaws, the pieces are really marvelous and present well. Would really shine under the right lighting. Wear them at your next fancy dress party, Halloween shindig, burlesque performance, Rocky Horror Picture Show viewing.
