The Tiki is a talisman to the Maori people, and has been regarded as a unisex symbol of good luck since ancient times. Carved into various natural materials, the most valuable tiki's were carved from pounamu, aka "greenstone" (a hard, durable, and highly valued nephrite jade from the South Island of New Zealand). This pendant features a hand carved image out of natural green nephrite jade depicting a "Hei Tiki" with its head on a tilt and both hands on the thighs. There is a sticker on the back that says FO12KT that I have left as purchased but there are no other markings on the ring. There may have been a 12KT gold bale that is missing.
I am including a 15” length gold plated chain with the pendant.
