Vintage New York City Subway Small Y Cut Out Transit Token 1953 to 1970

The New York City Subway opened in 1904 it cost 5 cents to ride from 1904 to 1948. From 1948 to 1953 it cost was 10 cents. In 1953 the cost to ride the subway went to 15 cents, The turnstiles could not take to different coins. So 1953 was the year that the starting making and using the tokens. (same size as a dime). They where manufactured between 1953 to 1970.
