1llllll bought a lighter from her with the same exact description and it DID NOT LIGHT OR WORK. She said it would, but she lied. it had a spark like described, but impossible to fill with gas because of the broken valve leaking butane. DO NOT BUY IF YOU EXPECT A WORKING LIGHTER. i would happily return it, but she lied and poshmark is taking her side.

elfy8884 @1llllll wow! To call me a liar is crossing the line. I didn’t deny your return, Poshmark did. That’s not my call. The lighter in fact has a spark. I would never sell a non functioning lighter. I would never sell anything broken or non functioning. You would be my first unhappy customer and I’m sorry for the that.

elfy8884 @1llllll in your case you never mentioned a leaking valve. You only stated “It didn’t spark” so who’s the liar? Also, how would I ever be aware of a leaking valve if I had never filled it with gas. To be fair, you’re complaints here are very different from what you stated in your case. Things would have probably gone differently had you said what was really the problem if in fact that was the problem.

1llllll @elfy8884 i suppose thats fair. Ive only made 3 or 4 purchases on poshmark and this was my first bad experience. I didnt know i should've gone into more detail, i thought it would be a simple process to just return the lighter. If the valve is leaking, it wont light. As long as a flint is there, of course it will spark, but that doesnt mean it works. the post made me think that i was buying a lighter that ran on lighter fluid, not butane. Its different.

1llllll a leaking valve is a common issue with old butane lighters, and i would never have purchased an untested lighter it if it was butane. im sorry for calling you a liar. the lighter isnt worth anything to me but it was supposed to be a treat for myself, which is what led to the frustrated response. elfy8884 @1llllll I’m sorry this happened to you. Just know, I am not a lighter specialist. When my father passed away in 2020, I didn’t want my mother to just dispose his collections. I thought other people may enjoy them. Had he stuck around a little while longer I would have possibly had the opportunity to ask him about these lighters. They are vintage. Not 10-15 years old but likely 30+ years old. Again, I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

1llllll Thank you for your response. Im sorry for your loss. I can relate, my father passed away February 2019 and my younger brother and I felt the same way about his coin collection, which we didnt really know much about.
