Vintage Neiman Marcus Swiss Watch

This vintage Swiss “wind up” watch from Neiman Marcus is a treasure from the past. Hand wound watches are powered by manually turning the crown to wind up the main spring. Analog readout on round face measures 14mm circumference, and raised crystal is beautifully detailed with beveled edging. Delicate face is stamped with Neiman Marcus signature, and 17 jewels. “17 Jewels” (often called “fully jeweled”) means the mechanism uses jewel bearings in the movement from the balance wheel all the way to the center wheel pivot. Watch is stamped “antimagnetic”. The bracelet band of this watch is an unusual succession of gold round discs, and stamped “20-42 KGF” on back of buckle clasp (see photo #10). This means the bracelet is made of a base metal that is mechanically bonded with a layer of at least 10 karat gold. KGF jewelry is less expensive than solid gold, but considered to be a high-quality and durable for jewelry. The band measures 19 cm around and is 1.5 cm wide. Buckle measures 12 mm long and 8 mm wide, with a 7 cm safety catch chain. Band is in good vintage condition, with mild tarnishing. Wind up mechanism is in working order, but needs servicing as keeps slow time. Try to bundle your purchases and save on shipping.
