Vintage Navajo Silver and Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace by Jimmy Long

This Navajo squash blossom necklace was made by celebrated Navajo silversmith Jimmy Long. Purchased on the Navajo reservation in Arizona in 1974. Seldom worn and in excellent condition. Its silver has never been polished. This 50-year-old silver and turquoise necklace retains its patina rom aging, enhancing its vintage character and historical significance. Length: 25 inches. Centerpiece (Naja): Measuring 3.5 inches in length and 2.5 inches in width, the Naja centerpiece features intricately stamped sterling silver details and showcases stunning turquoise stones. Blossoms: The necklace is adorned with fourteen traditional squash blossoms, each containing a beautifully matched turquoise stone. The blossoms are meticulously hand-crafted with stamped details. Silver Beads: Strung on handmade sterling silver bench beads, the necklace showcases a harmonious blend of texture and form. Provenance: Purchased on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona in 1974, this necklace has been part of a private collection and has not been available on the market for nearly 50 years. Artist Signature: The reverse of the Naja is stamped with "J. LONG," confirming its authenticity as a work by the renowned Navajo artist.
