We do not have a COA for this beauty, but it appears to be made by one of the Northeastern Wabanaki tribes, like the Passamaquoddy. It might be from one of the Algonquin tribes? Regardless, the natural colored wood (ash?) strips also have dyed strips of purple with a large green one. The ‘porcupine’ scalloped edge is dyed red. These colors are of course slightly faded, due to age, but are actually still quite vibrant. It has 8 twisted curl feet and only has minimal age appropriate distress (see pics). This early 20th century basket is spectacular!
