Vintage Mitchell Woodbury Co. Pottery Islesboro Inn Maine Bag Bowl Trinket Container Made in Boston The Islesboro Inn was located in Dark Harbor, Maine - Islesboro's third summer resort. The second Islesboro Inn opened in 1917, after the first Inn had burned to the ground in 1915. The Islesboro Inn was the cornerstone of the Dark Harbor summer resort, established in the 1880s as Islesboro's third summer community. In 1955, after years of disuse, the second Islesboro Inn was razed. The Great Depression had taken its toll on the Inn, followed by World War II, from which the Inn never recovered.
