Vintage Mint George Briard Designed two Divided Smoke Glass Tray w/Gold & Silver Bees design Mid century modern 2 section bent glass tray designed by Georges Briard. This unique smoke glass piece features a silver and gold motif of Napoleonic bees amongst fern and leaf branches. Beautiful for display as well as serving small appetizers or cocktail party nibbles. This beauty measures 14 1/4" long. Item is in vintage pristine condition. History: This piece was purchased by my Aunt at Wilkes Bashford in the late 1960s. George Briard pieces were exclusively sold at this store in San Francisco. My uber chic Aunt never used it and had it packed away securely. This was an expensive piece at retail even 60 years ago. Georges Briard (May 17, 1917 – July 30, 2005 New York) was an American designer in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He is most well known for his signature dishware and glassware - everything from cups and plates to gold plated serving dishes. His signature collection was stocked at noted department stores, such as Neiman Marcus and Bonwit Teller.
