The markings date this piece to circa 1950's from the Platería FarFan, Mexico City. This piece is in one of the best conditions I've seen. The balls have no dents or dings and the simulated foil opals have no scuffs or dulling. Imitation opals were common to vintage Mexican jewelry and are made of resins and foil to mimic the gorgeous colors and effects of opals. The stones are opalescent and show a lot of color and fire. The colors are mostly pink, amber and green.
