Vintage Maltese Silver Filigree Drop Earrings, Screw Back

This is a beautiful pair of Vintage Maltese Silver Filigree Earrings. A flower sits on each post, A crescent-shaped hoop dangles from a flower on each post, and inside the hoop dangles yet another flower, encircled in silver, with a raised center. There is scrolled filigree inside the crescents. They are each stamped Silver on the head of the screw back post. They could be 800, or 925. Older jewelry was often stamped Silver when the actual metal content besides the silver was unknown (all 925 is a compound of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metal, usually copper). Not lightweight with a “tinny” look and feel. They have some weight to them. Screw Back. From the late 1940’s, early 1950’s. The last photograph really shows the intricacy of the filigree. 1 1/8” wide and 1 7/8” long. A very similar pair sold on et*sy for $81 and they were not as old (post type). EUC.
