This beautiful lusterware trinket box portrays the classic sculptural image of Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus on the night of his birth. The box is made to hold a special treasure inside. About Lusterware: It is a type of porcelain or pottery with an ancient technique of metallic sheen produced by adding metallic oxides to the glaze. It’s resulting effect is unique and beautiful. The trinket box is in excellent condition. I did notice slight glazing and manufacturing imperfections in the interior lid consistent with handmade objects. Please see photos.
