Vintage Lionel Alarm Clock 100th Anniversary Talking Train 2000 Parts Only

Please see photos for condition. The clock ticks and the second hand moves, but the clock and alarm don’t seem to work. Unsure what the problem is. No train included. Please note: one of the small cars comes out of the clock if you turn it upside down, it could easily be glued back in though.
