gmarslett hi, I really like the jacket- so much I just bought one exactly like it labeled size 40. it fit more like a tight 38. I normally wear 40 or 40L, and was considering purchasing this jacket but obviously don't want another jacket too small to wear. Could you tell me if this fits like a 40 or smaller? Or could you tell me the measurements (sleeve length, shoulder to shoulder, armpit to armpit)? Thanks!

gmarslett thank you, this helps a ton! I believe the one I have measures exactly the same and is too tight- my modern 40L is 20 pit to pit, but the cut was slimmer in the 70s. so this one would be too tight for me. thank you for the excellent pictures and fast response!
