This is a vintage letterman’s jacket with leather sleeves and heavy felted wool outer. Silky iridescent lining. Awesome condition with no flaws noted. The patches are securely sewn but could be removed.
Guessing on size as there are no tags or labels. My brother wore in middle school which would have been 1969-1972. Measurements are as follows:
Chest - 44 inches
Sleeve - 25 inches
Shoulder - 18.5 inches across top back
Super cute and very warm. Feel free to ask any questions!

@marayers Hi! Your closet is great. I would like to share your closet to my friends. Mine also looks fabulous! :)

Great jacket. Could you please post an armpit to armpit measurement? Is the chest measurement you listed around the whole jacket? Also, do you remember your brother's approximate size when it fit him?
marayers
@scubacat29 The 44 is accurate for chest measurement which would make the pit to pit 22 inches. My brother was an early bloomer who probably looked more mature than his age at the time. He would have been in 8th grade when he wore this jacket.

@scubacat29 knowing my parents, they very well might have ordered “for him to grow into”, and 44reg is a common size for a man’s suit jacket, so I’m thinking it might have been a bit loose on and with grader even if he was more developed than his peers.

An eighth grader. My typing sucks. Lol

Your typing is fine! Thanks for the info, could you please also measure the length of the jacket and the circumference of the sleeve at around bicep level? Sorry to be so particular, , I've had problems finding a good fit with letterman jackets! Thanks.

@scubacat29 so sorry for delayed response.
Collar to hem in the back is approximately 26 inches. Bicep sleeve measured flat is approximately 8 - 8.5 inches. Hope this is helpful.

Is it stiff or softer?
