Vintage Leona Caldwell Originals Vest. Features an open front design with folded over lapels with fringe detail at the shoulder & all along hem. Fringe is uneven & ragged- not sure if it is intentional or due to vintage age. Has a beautifully crafted Baja texture to the fabric. A little history: Leona Caldwell was a noted figure in Arizona’s modernist craft movement. Based in Scottsdale, her work celebrated cultural themes and graphics of the southwest. Leona Caldwell Originals, her retail shop, was opened in the respected Kiva Craft Center on Fifth Avenue in Scottsdale. Leona Caldwell became a central figure in the Scottsdale modern craft movement. Vest is in good preloved condition with normal wear consistent with vintage age. No size listed but approximate measurements lying flat: 18.25” from pit to pit & 25” from shoulder to hem.
