Vintage Large Guatemalan Wall Hanging Hand Woven Embroidered Tapestry

My mother received this as a gift from one of her friends about 45 years ago who was a history teacher, she brought it back from a trip to Guatemala. My mother claims to have had a picture her friend took of the Guatemalan woman weaving it but has no idea where it went. The colors are very attractive, bright and vibrant. Measures approximately 49" long from tassel to tassel and 17 1/2" wide. My mother mounted this on a piece of wooden trim for hanging, it's stapled into the wood. Very unique piece.
