💕 Vintage Korean Lacquer Mother-of-Pearl Jewelry Box

Mother-of-pearl lacquerware emerged in Korea around the 6th century. The technique is called "najeonchilgi" & consists of hand-carving & inlaying shells onto objects in decorative designs. It has been a symbol of wealth to own a mother-of-pearl box as precious as the jewels nestled within. Cool fact: Bill Gates commissioned a South Korean artist to create mother-of-pearl inlaid Xboxes using this traditional craftsmanship, which he gifted to the president :) This is a vintage item, it has some light wear and slight scratches as shown in the photos Price is firm unless bundled please 😊🥰💕
