Vintage | Early 1950s | Beautiful | Large | Smiling | Betsy Wetsy Baby Doll | Open, Closing Blue Eyes | Yellow dress Stockings | Lace Mid- 1950’s Ideal Toy Co 14” BETSY WETSY Doll Measuring at 25 tall, this beautiful baby doll, being from the 1950’s, shows much beauty in her age. Believe that the bonnet is original cotton silk with original ruffle dress, however is a vintage Carter six month old dress, which fits her perfectly. She has some bloomers on that are a little big for her, but she is dressed. She has beautiful full, long black eyelashes, oversetting her bright green eyes, which open and close as you lay her down and sit her up. Given her name “Betsy Wetsy” you could guess why, because she has a hole opening in her mouth and on her bottom to where she can be fed, and wet, just as real babies do. The original feeding bottle is missing, but this is such a great feature in this vintage rare find! This lovely little girl is rare to find and is all vinyl Molded Hair Betsy Wetsy. Her counterpart with the saran hair is prevalent 1950’s Betsy Wetsy doll made of hard plastic, which Ideal Toy Co. introduced first in the doll industry in 1949. This doll is numbered which is still made by  toy co. many betsy wetsy dolls marked made in USA. She is very old and a little worn with her appearance and smell, while remaining uncleaned, showing true nostalgia of the past. This is what makes the importance of value and love for antiques!
