Vintage Herend Hungary Rothschild Bird Deep Leaf Dish - Hand-Painted 680/RO

A gorgeous Herend leaf shaped dish / bowl in the Rothschild Bird pattern. Piece number 680/RO Measures approx. 4-1/4" in length from handle to tip x 3" wide x 1-1/2" deep Hallmark dates this from 1960-1985 Hand-painted in Hungary. Mint condition, no signs of any use. Many connoisseurs consider this pattern, first created in 1860 for the Rothschild family of Europe, to be the epitome of hand painting on porcelain. Twelve different motifs portray a 19th century tale about Baroness Rothschild, who lost her pearl necklace in the garden of her Vienna residence. Several days later it was found by her gardener, who saw birds playing with it in a tree.
