Vintage Handmade Spoon Rest Ceramic Decorative Piece

This is just the cutest. Handmade. On back there is an inscription from Mary to Vivian 1976. I’m assuming it was made by Mary. It’s very well made. No cracks, chips or defects. It’s unique and one of a kind. I would love to know the story behind this.
