Vintage Hammered Aluminum Basket/Plate Tray with Rope Handle

Vintage Hammered aluminum, also known as the “poor man’s” silver, was popular and enjoyed popularity as an affordable decorative option in the late 30s and 40s. Hammered aluminum and “bride’s baskets” were popular gifts for brides and are still used as fancy carriers for flowers, cakes, pies, etc. This basket Looks like it may have been made by a company called Continental, but the mark is difficult to decipher. It has a beautiful blended floral bouquet in the center, and the handle is what is called a rope or twisted rope handle. It is in very good condition and 12" in diameter. It is large enough to carry and showcase baked goods. The items we sell are not new. They are vintage and have lived previous lives. As such, be aware that minor imperfections and flaws may exist.
