Vintage HMQ Metal Nutcracker
HENRY MARCUS QUACKENBUSH (HMQ) Nutcracker
Circa 1940s
Condition: Very good
Measurements:
4½" - 6½" tall (depends on whether handle is positioned down or up.)
3 1/4" wide (handle)
2" wide (base)
T is a screw type mechanism for tightening against the nut. The HMQ logo is stamped visibly in the center of the nutcracker.
This eye-catching, uniquely-shaped nutcracker is in very good condition with small cosmetic spots inside (not seen.) The handle turns with ease, descends straight, and the force it exerts is strong.
Fascinating piece of history... A thing of beauty and 1940s ingenuity! Made by Henry Marcus Quackenbush (HMQ), this nutcracker is in very nice pre-owned and working condition. Would be a great tool for your bar nut basket or a wonderful gift for a vintage tool lover! We think it's pretty cool!
NOTE: Nutcracker has a flat base (as the photos show) but the nutcracker is top-heavy due to the weight of the handle and does not readily stand by itself. Should the buyer like to display this nutcracker, it would likely need to lean on something.
