Milk glass with a pastel avocado colored pattern called Primrose Dream. Dishes were sold in both individual pieces and also convenience sets which could include up to 40 pieces of various sizes and shapes. This listing is for the 9” circular baking dish.
This brand dates all the way to the early 1900's, even though the dish itself wasn't made until the 1960's. A competitor to Pyrex, Glasbake dishes were created by the McKee Glass Company beginning in 1917 to assist home cooks with storage, serving and cooking needs. With the ability to do three kitchen jobs at once, Glasbake dishes could go straight from the fridge to the oven to the table without breaking, a thrifty time-saving and space-saving concept. The McKee Glass Company and the Glasbake brand changed hands over many decades throughout the 20th century, finally coming to rest with the Jeanette Glass Company in the 1960's, which was when this casserole dish was made.
