Vintage Giuliano Fratti Milan Triple Strand Art Glass Collar Style Necklace

Gorgeous, rare, triple strand glass necklace by famed Italian parurier Giuliano Fratti Milan. Comprised of beautiful emerald green, amber, and opalescent white glass beads, individually knotted, and strung in graduating lengths, finished with a decorative gilt box clasp that features a marbleized, pearly, green faux stone. Done in collar form, shortest strand is approximately 16 inches or so in length, the longest, approximately 18.5. Signed with Fratti’s signature on the back of the clasp. Early in his career, Fratti was known for his creativity with the limited materials allowed in jewelry production in Italy under fascist rule - but is perhaps better known now for having produced jewelry for couture houses ranging from Valentino, to Chanel and Dior. He also collaborated with Archimede Seguso - for example, he provided the gilt work on Seguso’s elaborate and distinctive Murano glass chains. Really fabulous piece by a wonderful designer.
