Vintage Geta (Shoes)

These are vintage Geta. Geta are wooden, platformed shoes that help give the geisha extra height to avoid their kimonos dragging on the floor when they walk. They typically have a thong strap to keep them on their feet. These shoes have not been worn. They were used as a visual display in my classroom when a unit on Japan was taught. They need to be appreciated.
