Darling genuine vintage white milk opal in yellow gold that research dates to the mid-century. Pretty green and pink pinpoint flashes in the creamy white stone - classic for Australian white opal also known as porcelain opal. This would also be considered a "Pinfire" or "Pinpoint" opal because the pattern of the flash is in small points. The head of the pin surrounding the opal stone tests as 14k gold - gold fill I suspect as I think I see a tiny bit of wear at one portion of the edge and that would fit for the time as they were all about saving money. The stick and the pin cover are gold tone (which makes them stronger!). Unmarked. Fully functional. Mild wear as would be expected for age. Opals are thought to connect you to angelic realms.
