Vintage, Genuine Calf Leather Jewelry Box

Made in Florence, boxes like this one were traditionally made using a process of layering and hand-tooling leather to create intricate shapes embossed with romantic designs. Often used for storing jewelry and other valuables, these boxes were popular during the Renaissance era and continue to be highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of vintage Italian craftsmanship. I’ve not seen boxes like this sold for less than $60 anywhere on line. Details: •Color is more of a dark burgundy with gold embossing •Genuine Calf Leather •Made in Italy •Lined in Brown Velvet •5.5”Lx3.5”Wx1.75”H •Interior contains one 5” row to hold rings/ earrings, and one 5”x2”x1” space for storing other jewelry or personal items. Condition is very good for age, flaw noted in photo.
