I bought these beauties in San Francisco around 1980. I treasured them and took loving care of them and they are is amazing shape especially for vintage. They represent Frye at the height of their finest workmanship - made in the USA, fully leather lined with real leather stack heels and the signature, elegant equestrian harness detail with brass buckles. The look is classic - a little slouchy around the ankles with a sleek, tapered shape, rounded toes and elegant 3 inch tapered stack heels. Super versatile, they're perfect with a midi skirt and a tweed blazer for a kind of Ralph Lauren look or with a Free People mini dress or with skinny jeans or leggings tucked in. The rich dark brown leather is still rich and flawless except for some wear next to the zipper that only shows when they're unzipped. I had them half-soled once and the the only flaw, which I recently had repaired, is that the vamp and toe box have an additional canvas lining. It came loose in both boots and I had them reglued.
