Vintage French Jet Choker Necklace Mourning Jewelry Faceted Glass 16-18" Long. Victorian French Jet necklace, popularized by Queen Victoria of England, worn in remembrance of a loved one who has passed. Hence the name; Mourning Jewelry. This was a very popular style in the late Victorian Era. The style originally used Organic Jet beads, but when sources of that material began to run out, it was replaced with French Jet and one other types of Black Beads. This Gorgeous Choker in French Jet is intricately faceted. This graduated necklace has a surface treatment to mimic the look of Real Organic Jet beads.
