Vintage Fort Hays Kansas State College Art Pottery NFBPWC Plate
• 8.75” diameter x 1” deep
• Commemorative plate celebrating the founding of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs in 1919 and featuring their emblem.
• Moderate crazing
• No chips or cracks, but there is one small fissure on the breast of the winged figure. This affects the surface only and does not carry through to the back of the plate.
• Last photo shows the piece alongside a matching blue piece also in my closet. This photo best shows the true color.
Founded in the heels of WWI, the NFBPWC was the first organization in the world created to focus on the issues of working women. Their emblem incorporates the symbols featured on this plate to represent light, peace, communication, achievement, progress, unbroken harmony, and endless friendship.
