Forstmann was a maker of woolen yarns and fabrics started by German immigrants in 1904. The company was sold to a textile manufacturer in 1957 so this very special bag is likely from that era. It’s navy blue, made of virgin wool and cashmere and has a silk lining with ALL the original accessories including an old mirror and silk change purse! Truly a vintage treasure!

arden925 I worked at frost valley ymca where the Forstmann summer home is located at. Before it became a camp the forstmann family spent summers and the 1918 pandemic at this home from the 1900’s-1950’s. It is still around and many of Julius forstmann’s advertisements and family photos/ artifacts. Guests can actually stay at the home when they come visit frost valley!
