Many leather bags have I had in my day... the leather on this defies description. It's like a taper skin minus the spots. No idea what type of leather it is thick, buttery, textured and beyond comparison. This is a unisex type bag and can be worn as a crossbody or shoulder bag. Leather lined with zipper pocket. babalon156 We are NOT an allergen free home, and NO vintage item has ever been Unexposed to smoke - sorry but that's a fact. This is in great vintage condition, and has been used. Interior is fine, zippers and snaps function, but this is NOT a new item, so take that into account. Measurements in next comment. Please ask all questions, request additional info as needed. babalon156 Appx 14 inches across longest side, 10 inches tall and depending on how full you fill this, about 4.5 to 5 inches thickness. 24 inches from top of strap to where bag begins - note I have the buckle on strap adjusted to the SHORTEST length, so add a couple of inches for maximum length. Interior zip compartment AND external (backside) zipper area. 2 shapely pockets under flap easily fit my iphone6 (with battery case).

babalon156 the pouches are just under 7 inches high, with an extra inch of space at top, so any items longer than pocket will not interfere with flap closure. The width is about 5 inches on the pockets AND there is about 1 inch of thickness to these pockets, so bulky items should fit nicely. Price is firm. This is a most unusual piece.

babalon156 @lemurianmuse It's truly glorious - NO idea what the leather is.. it's got that tapir skin feel about it...but softer, thicker... when my dad saw it, it immediately commandeered it (he was a hoarder of fine leather goods...(and everything else) PLUS he was not abashed to tote the "man-bag" - eventually I got it back lol If you have any theories on the leather type... DO share...it's been a mystery for a couple of decades...

babalon156 @lemurianmuse the ol' dad was, indeed one of the inventors of pelvic LASER surgery/infertility... quite the fellow he! Not many people can hoard medical Lasers... There is a medical connection for sure - the "worthy receptacle for the tools and mysteries of the trade" perhaps?
