Vintage Escada by Margaretha Ley long sweater

Vintage and Rare! This Escada sweater by top designer Margaretha Ley, who passed away in 1992, is a true treasure. Made in Germany of new virgin wool, which is special as it’s from the first first shearing of sheep bred exclusively for its wool. This type of wool is particularly fine and soft because it has not yet had exposure to environmental factors such as dirt, sunlight and rain. It’s a true red, long, open front sweater. Typical to the designs of the 80’s and early 90’s, it’s oversized, vertically ribbed, and horizontally so on the collar, which runs the entire length. It has slits on the bottom of each side and small slits at the bottom of the sleeves, and still has the velcro for shoulder pads, if you wish to add any. There is a barely visible hole on the right side, and a small tear on the bottom that I’ve pointed the out in the photos. This is a true vintage gem.
