About ModeArt “ART”
Arthur Pepper founded ModeArt in New York City sometime in the late 40s or early 50s and produced high quality costume jewelry through the 1970s.
ART jewelry encompassed a broad range of styles, so it can be difficult to pinpoint a piece until the hallmark is found. Art jewelry is fun to come across and collect!
ART made many beautiful figural brooches, sets, bright enamel pieces, and Christmas jewelry.
ART jewelry may have the hallmark “ART”. Some pieces were signed “ModeArt” and “Mode-Art.” Jewelry created after 1955 was signed “ART©.”
