The Rothenberg family founded Culver Glass, or Culver Industries, in Brooklyn, New York, in 1939. It was one of several emerging glassware companies amid the rising practice of hosting cocktail hours in American society. The company initially made glassware with acid-etched, sandblasted, hand-painted, or silk-screen designs. The blank face design came later in the 1980’s.
