Vintage Crown Trifari Rhinestone Brooch - 1950s

Early vintage Trifari brooch/pin. Gold colored with rhinestones. The back is marked with the Crown Trifari mark (♔︎over the T) and PAT. PEND. Trifari PAT. PEND. is one of the earliest Trifari marks you will see. Prior to 1955 the U.S. copyright law did not extend protection to jewelry designs, so the major manufacturers protected their designs with patents. As soon as a design was completed, jewelry would be stamped PAT. PEND. to advise that a patent application was filed. (1114)
