Approx 8 1/2" tall to the top of her bonnet covering her red hair.
She is wearing a thick white apron that has a pocket containing the info sheet, see pics.
Under the Apron is a black skirt, red underskirt and white bloomers, see pics.
The info sheet tells the story of the Cornish Bal Maidens, see pics.
They were female manual labourers working in the mines of Cornwall and western
Devon, in the south west of Great Britain.
The term has been in use since at least the early 18th century
My wife loved buying the hard to find versions of dolls as we traveled in the 80s.
