Beautiful Bolo tie stamped by the artist "H B". I have tried to determine who artist is but I cant find this exact initial stamp. The artisan "Begay" family is mentioned with a google search, but again have no exact match. If you have more info please let me know! I believe is a one of a kind piece. I have two other items all from an Albuquerque NM Estate Sale that have the same stamp. One is a hat band, another is a bracelet. Will try to list soon!
As to metal, definately copper, and unsure if "silver metal" is sterling or not. There are inlaid turquoise chips plus a large center stone that is a darker color but from side has some clear spots. The tips I believe are sterling and have mother of pearl at ends
Condition: Vintage gently used condition, minor wear to the whole piece including tie, minor scratches up close which may be from metal work, please see all photos
The hummingbird in Native American culture means healers and more. They bring healing and help to others. In that way, they also symbolize good luck to those who see the bird. In some pueblos, hummingbirds also represent fire. Also some tribes see them as lucky, for happiness, good fortune and more.
