obietravels Hi there! Nice bracelets! I’m an avid collector of Bakelite, and I believe that your brown bracelets are Actually made of wood. I have several similar vintage wooden bangles, and the finish on these wooden bangles will interact with the Simichrome polish in the same way that Bakelite does, producing a false positive test. The grain on the brown bangles is indicative of wood. Bakelite is extruded plastic, and can have a swirl appearance, but never has such a grain appearance 😊
