Vintage Collectable Russian Laquer Box

Russia Ukraine Kholui Lacquer Wood Box Ruslan & Ludmila Vintage USSR Cold War Gift RARE It is made of wood with what feels like paint and a lacquer finish. This vintage Russian lacquer box was made in the village Kholui. The cover is hand painted with a scene from a poem by Alexander Pushkin “Ruslan and Ludmila”. The Poem is written as an epic fairy tale telling the story of the abduction of Ludmila, the daughter of Prince Vladimir of Kiev, Ukraine, by an evil wizard and attempt by the brave knight Ruslan to find and rescue her. Measures approximately 5.5" x 3.5" x 2". Inside red lacquer does have chipped area. These are rare and often sell for over $400 each. Signed by artist.
