These were kept in the bathroom to insert used razor blades in when they became dull and needed to be thrown away. The little guy prevented everyone from accidentally getting sliced! With this blade
Description: This razor blade keeper is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. It does have some normal crazing. You have to look real close to see it.
It stands 3 1/2" high X 3 1/4" across the bottom. It is hallmarked on the bottom (see picture).

Cleminson Pottery History:
Betty Cleminson's ceramics story began in a Los Angeles studio where, as an apprentice, she learned the basics of ceramic formulas, glazes, and the firing process. In 1940, Betty received a kiln as a Christmas gift, immediately putting it to good use in her Monterey Park garage. Early designs attracted the attention of a local sales representative, who offered to exhibit them at a giftware show. Interest was moderate until Betty hit on an idea that proved Cleminsons' first best-seller: a line of decorative ceramic pie birds.
Cleminson Clay, like many other firms of the World War II era, owed its early success to wartime restrictions. With overseas imports curtailed, home decorators were obliged to buy domestically.
