Vintage Circa 1990's RALPH LAUREN Penny Loafers 8AA

Purchased in Austin Texas at the Ralph Lauren store in the Arboretum and if you know (and lovingly remember ) Austin in the 90's this was THE PLACE to go for RL. Long before Austin exploded, the Arboretum was on the outskirts of the city....but I digress. One of my favorite go to pair of shoes. Maintained by my husband (polishing, shoe tree) for as long as I was working. But alas once I quit government service they were relegated to a shoe tub and are now ready to come out and prance around again. The leather is still strong and supple. There is definite wear around the outeredges. Toes are scuffed abit. A small amount of water discoloration on one side (damn Texas rain). What appears to be cracking on side is scuffing with the leather rubbed away. Heels and leather soles intact. Interior has been hand sanitized but I can attest they were never worn without socks or hosiery. These aren't the absolutely most perfect pair you will find, but if you want to "dip your toe" into the Ralph Lauren world without the $$ commitment these are perfect to wear as casual loafers with jeans or a cute skirt. The penny part of the shoe is sewn shut so you can't make them true penny loafers but that is a minor issue in the large scheme of things. Nonsmoking with helpful cat in area. LH9PJ
