Vintage Carved Wood Wall Mounted Mail Holder with Man & Bird Motif

This wall mounted mail holder is made of wood and has two divided sections. The front of each section has a different design carved from a lighter colored wood - one features a man in a cap (possibly a fisherman), the other features a bird in flight. The entire piece measures about 11.5" tall (not including hanging loop) and 5.25" wide. The dividers extend about 2.5" from the wall. The top compartment is about 5.5" deep from the top edge, and the lower compartment is about 3 5/8" deep. There is a hanging loop affixed to the back for easy wall display. The back of the mail holder is stamped "Audet [unintelligible] a la main, Quebec, Canada" and has a label which reads "Msigur Lagate, Ste Flavie, Gaspesie". This is likely a souvenir from this coastal area of Quebec. This item is vintage and shows some light indications of age/wear, such as some minor scratches or surface markings to the wood.
