Vintage California DOC Meritorious Conduct Medal. 🏅 The Silver Star medal is awarded for acts of bravery under extraordinary or unusual circumstances. The employee shall display courage in the face of potential peril while saving or attempting to save the life of another person or distinguish himself or herself by performing in stressful situations with exceptional tactics or judgement. This was given to me about 15 yrs ago by a guy who lives in CA. The ribbon was missing. A pretty cool collectors piece by anyone who is/has been in law-enforcement or who collects department of corrections memorabilia. You can read more at cdcra.ca.gov who issues these medals.
