It is a picture of a beautiful dark haired, brown eyed woman with bright red lipstick and wearing a white floppy hat. She is wearing pearls and is holding a bouquet of pink roses.
J. Knowles Hare was a glamour print and calendar artist, usually in pastel, but also in pencils and oils. Covers for Woman's Home Companion, American Magazine, This Week, Saturday Evening Post, Country Gentleman, Ladies' Home Journal, Photoplay, Modern Priscilla, Harper's Weekly. Ads for Gossard Corrset, Palmolive, Elgin, Packar's. His lovely wife, Gladys Granger, was his main model.
