Beautiful brass trinket box marked "Made in Occupied Japan", made during the Allied occupation of Japan from 1945 to 1952 after World War II. This piece was purchased state-side in North TX at an estate sale. Unknown backstory, however found state-side most likely was a US service man had purchased this for his wife, sweetheart or mother. Inside is pillow lined in pink satin. For its age, it has naturally oxidized aligned to the years of its journey to what was once revered as a special gift. Measures approximately 3"w x 1 3/4"h. It's a solid piece, fully intact with working hinge. Lid is a brilliant red in color with a mill grain edging and a single rose centered motif.
